I bet you didn't think Christmas was right around the corner, but here we are at C is for Christmas Clothing... in September! The heart of Boom Shark Designs is the clothing - namely, our T-shirts. We love a good T-shirt and hope you do too. We use the Bella+Canvas 3001 for our T-shirts because they are the softest T's around. It's the reason our motto is "Sharp designs, Soft Tees." I don't know if I have a more favorite part of my evening routine than getting into "comfies," as I call them, after a long day in work clothes. A great Tee is the center of that change. Christmas is one of my favorite holidays, not just because I get to give or make gifts (who wants a Jelly of the Month club membership?!) but because the season brings with it a whole genre of things to enjoy. The humor gem in that genre has to be the classic tale of Clark Griswold and his pursuit of the "good ol' fashioned family Christmas" - chasing nostalgia with enthusiasm - in the classic tale "Christmas Vacation." Once we were a little older, this movie was always played at the conclusion of Thanksgiving weekend before holiday shopping began. I don't know if it was just because that is what was on TV to begin with, but it is now intentional. Shawn's family had a similar tradition, which we have blended together to make our own traditions.
We now quote the movie in many settings. Unintentional home repairs: like when the glass shower door fell off the track and landed inside the shower with a bang, the next holler out was, "fixed the newel post!" Experience a bad driver: "Do you really want to drive behind someone like that?" Anytime anything is sticky: "Looks great. Little full, lotta sap." Anytime I'm asked to say grace, I wonder if I should say, "The BLESSSSSING." The memories of watching it together make the jokes funnier, and the joy resonates more deeply.
